Forum REGAR 2025 | BPF and SGM Bring 3 Awards to Portugal

Portugal was the big winner at the Annual Meeting of the Ibero-American Guarantee Network – REGAR, held last week, from September 24 to 27, in Argentina, being recognized in three categories:

This event brings together entities that operate guarantee systems in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula, to discuss, share, and develop best practices in supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through financial guarantees.

The Portuguese delegation was led by the Mutual Guarantee Society and the Portuguese Development Bank (BPF). Representing the Mutual Guarantee Society were Joaquim Pinheiro, Chairman of the Board, José Furtado, CEO, and Rui Saraiva da Silva, Executive Director. From BPF, Luís Guimarães, Chief Commercial Officer, and Manuel Queiroz Ribeiro, Coordinating Director of the Corporate and Sustainability Department, participated.

In 2026, REGAR will be held in Peru.
