Filipe Pires Alves, BPF’s Director of Indirect Capital, Appointed to the Management of Startup Portugal

Startup Portugal announced today the formation of its new management team, which will include Filipe Pires Alves, Coordinating Director of Indirect Capital at the Portuguese Development Bank (BPF).
The association, responsible for promoting national entrepreneurship, will be led by Alexandre Santos, previously General Partner at Chamaeleon and former head of the investment area at Bright Pixel. Miguel Aguiar, former deputy to the Secretary of State for the Economy, assumes the role of Executive Director, and José Antão, Head of Innovation Policy at the National Innovation Agency, also joins the new management team.
"I receive with great enthusiasm the appointment to the management of Startup Portugal. It is a privilege to work towards the growth of national entrepreneurship, putting at service my experience and that of the Portuguese Development Bank in this area," said Filipe Pires Alves, Coordinating Director of Indirect Capital.
The new management team has defined the following strategic priorities:
- Execute PRR funds under the responsibility of Startup Portugal
- Strengthen support for internationalization within the entrepreneurial ecosystem
- Attract investment
- Promote talent and innovation
- Position and consolidate Portugal as one of the main innovation hubs
