AI Gigafactory Portugal – Kick-off Meeting, 11 March

The Kick-off meeting of the AI Gigafactory Portugal initiative will take place on 11 March in Lisbon, bringing together a wide range of partners from the technological, scientific and financial ecosystem.

The meeting represents another important milestone in this strategic project for the development of the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem, following the announcement by the Governments of Portugal and Spain at the Iberian Summit, where they decided to join efforts to submit a joint bid for one of the five Artificial Intelligence Gigafactories planned for Europe.

The Banco Português de Fomento leads the Portuguese Consortium in this bid, which could mobilise an Iberian investment of more than €8 billion, with the potential to generate an estimated economic impact of around 3% of GDP and strengthen the attraction of foreign direct investment.
